Josie Ziegler, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Optometry in 2022. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Hebrew Language from Temple University in 2016.

Upon graduating optometry school Dr. Ziegler received the Kentucky College of Optometry Contact Lens Clinic Excellence Award and the GPLI 2022 Dr. Robert B. Mandell Gas Permeable Clinical Excellence Award. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Contact Lens Section of the AOA, as well as the Ohio Optometric Association. Her passion in optometry is reflected in her interest in preventative care such as myopia management, dry eye disease treatments, and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Ziegler’s interest in optometry began when she was 7 years old and learning about Helen Keller in second grade. She decided then that she wanted to help people with various vision conditions. When she was 14 years old, she earned her first job as an optician and optometric technician. Dr. Ziegler continued this work for 10 years prior to optometry school.

Outside of work, Dr. Ziegler spends time with her husband, Alex, and son, Robert. She is an active member in the Cincinnati Jewish community, enjoys traveling, and exploring the Cincinnati area.

Dr. Zelczak received his doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia in 1992 and completed his primary medical eye care residency from The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pa, in 1993.

Dr. Zelczak is a member of the American Optometric Association, the AOA Contact Lens Section, and the Ohio and Cincinnati Optometric Associations. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a five-time recipient of the Optometric Recognition Award. Dr. Zelczak is a co-managing doctor for laser, refractive, and cataract surgery and has worked as a clinical associate at the MidWest Eye Center and the Cincinnati Eye Institute.

Dr. Zelczak is the co-director of the MidWest Optometric Society which provides educational conferences and continuing education to optometrists nationwide. He has lectured and written articles on several ocular disease topics, including glaucoma, dry eye, and visual neurology, and has lectured as a CORE speaker for Allergan and Shire Pharmaceuticals. Additionally, Dr. Zelczak has participated in the spring training vision evaluations for the Cincinnati Bengals since 1994.

Dr. Zelczak is a clinical assistant professor and preceptor involved with training and educating 4th-year optometric student interns from Western University College of Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, and Pikesville University College of Optometry.

Dr. Kirstein received his doctorate from the Massachusetts College of Optometry in 1976 and is the founder and director of Harper’s Point Eye Associates.

He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Association of Vision Research in Ophthalmology, and the Contact Lens Section of the AOA. Dr. Kirstein is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society and the Ocular Surface Disease Society of Optometry. He is a co-managing doctor for laser refractive surgery at LCA-Vision. Dr. Kirstein has authored scientific studies and published several scientific articles and textbook chapters.

He has lectured and written on glaucoma management, intraocular pressure measurement, visual field analysis, contact lenses, and computer integration of medical eye care. During the early development of soft contact lenses in the 1970s, he was a clinical investigator for the United States Food and Drug Administration. He has served as the glaucoma consultant for Paradigm Medical Industries in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the United States glaucoma research consultant for Ziemer Ophthalmology, AG, Switzerland. He serves on the Speakers Alliance for Alcon, Reichert, Optovue and Haag Streit, USA, and Aerie Pharmaceuticals.

He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at The Western College of Optometry and the Illinois College of Optometry. In August 2021, Dr. Kirstein was ranked #66 in Newsweek Magazine’s list of America’s Best Optometrists.
